Hey! You're Here...

My story continues below. Hang on tight... it's QUITE the journey!

My Story

"Teaching is my career, and fitness is my passion project." That’s how I explain what I do when people ask what I do for a living. My fitness journey began at 15, when I realized that to feel good in my body, I needed to move it and fuel it properly.

It all started with my first cardio kickboxing class at the YMCA. I was instantly hooked—the music, the rhythm, and the instructor's infectious energy were captivating. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be just like her someday.

Fast forward: I continued to participate in group fitness classes throughout college but never had the courage to audition to be an instructor. I made it a goal to one day stand in front of the class.

After graduating from UW Oshkosh, I began teaching elementary students in the Manitowoc Public School District. I loved teaching, but something was missing. So, I took the plunge and reached out to the Group Exercise Director at the Y to inquire about instructor openings.

Two weeks later, I was teaching my very first Body Sculpting class. I was terrified, but all that anxiety transformed into high energy as I faced the class. Within a year, I left my teaching job to become the next full-time Group Fitness Director at the Y.

Throughout the next 6 years, I met countless people and witnessed incredible transformations and inspirational journeys. However, I missed the teaching aspect, so I auditioned to become a Master Trainer for a group exercise format called R.I.P.P.E.D.. A week before my 30th birthday, I was thrilled to receive the offer! Those years were some of the most exciting of my life, as I trained alongside amazing women in Orange County, CA, and presented at IDEA World in LA. I managed territories in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Upper Michigan, certifying instructors in the format, expanding my network and connecting with even more incredible individuals-- this time nationwide.

Then came COVID, and the wellness industry changed dramatically. I lost my job at the Y and returned to the education field. I gave the elementary teaching gig another shot, decided it was not for me, and entered the world of Higher Education instruction at Lakeshore College. While teaching, I continued to instruct and coach fitness classes, creating a beautiful synergy between the two professions.

Throughout my journey as a fitness professional, it became GLARING to me the need for BODY CONFIDENCE. It saddened me witnessing and listening to each story- of folks' horrible relationship with food and exercise-participating in unhealthy methods to lose weight- to still hate their bodies-repeating the unhealthy yo-yo. It became my mission to do everything I could to STOP THE CYCLE and focus on the possible and the empowering.

It was during this time that I decided I had to take the next leap into 1:1 Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching to make the BIGGEST IMPACT I could. To my surprise, personal training took off faster than I ever imagined, leading me to make the tough decision to step back from group instruction. Fate had guided me to where I was meant to be, and finally live out my dreams and carry out my personal mission just as I always envisioned. KSPT was born!
